Two IWIRC DC members, network co-chair Lauren Friend McKelvey of Wiley Rein LLP and Kristin K. Going of Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, were among the eleven featured panelists at the American Bankruptcy Institute’s inaugural workshop in its new Alexandria Conference Center on November 6, 2013 addressing Risky Times for Secured Lenders and Servicers.
Lauren and Kristin discussed recent legal developments critical to secured lenders, including legal issues that impact commercial loan transactions and practical strategies for minimizing the risk of lender liability claims. Deloitte’s Lisa Poulin, a member of the IWIRC Greater Maryland Network and honorary member of the IWIRC DC Network’s Board of Directors, moderated a panel of commercial and alternative lenders who discussed the future of business lending in the current economy.
The IWIRC DC Network was a co-sponsor of the workshop, along with the IWIRC Greater Maryland Network, TMA Chesapeake Chapter and RMA Potomac Chapter.
