MIWIRC’s 2012 Economic Outlook event took place on January 19th at the Birmingham Country Club and featured guest speaker David Littmann. Mr. Littmann is a Senior Economist at the Mackinac Center for Public Policy. Mr. Littmann retired from Comerica Bank in early 2005 as senior vice president and chief economist after a 35-year career in charge of Comerica’s Economics Department and Research Library. During his career, he authored a host of business barometers and developed many leading indicators for the local and national economies as well as the tourism and automotive industries. Mr. Littmann spoke to over 30 attendees about current economic trends both locally and nationally. He also shared his perspectives on how the political environment and policies impact economic and industry conditions. In addition to Mr. Littmann’s insightful comments, MIWIRC members and non-members enjoyed an evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and networking.
