Finance Committee

About this Committee

The Finance Committee is responsible for providing oversight and advice to IWIRC’s Executive Committee on financial aspects of IWIRC, including the annual budget, review of financial statements, review of the annual investments statements, and sponsor development and communications with IWIRC’s annual sponsors.  The Finance Committee will also assist with special projects as determined by the Executive Committee. 

The responsibilities of the Finance Committee include: 

  • Assist in the development and oversight of annual budget and financial statements.  
  • Review annual audit report for the Corporation. 
  • Review and comment on balance sheets, profit and loss statements, budgets and investment reports. 
  • Develop sponsorship materials and benefits. 
  • Assist with sponsorship outreach and communications with existing and potential sponsors. 
  • Assist with engaging financial advisors, including investment advisors and auditors. 
  • Regularly review and update as required IWIRC’s finance related policies, including the Investment Policy and Audit Review Policy. 

Composition

The Finance Committee shall be chaired by the Finance Director and comprised of the Finance Director, the Vice Finance Director, and a maximum of eight (8) other members.
