IWIRC Virtual Programs – Asia Literary Society

The IWIRC Virtual Programs Committee invites you to register for the first edition of the IWIRC Asia Literary Society Meeting on Friday, November 6, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. SGT. This month’s theme is “Expectations and Convention.”

With a more Asia-centric focus this time around, attendees are invited to share a favorite book that explores the themes of expectations and convention – whether cultural, societal, or personal.

During the meeting, each attendee will have the opportunity to share the book’s title, genre, a brief spoiler-free synopsis, and their overall review with the group. Together, we’ll explore how authors across Asia and beyond examine the pressures of expectation and the pull of convention through literature.

The meeting will be moderated by Roopa Somasundaran (https://iwirc.com/user/thashnath.roopa/) and Tan Kai Yun (https://iwirc.com/user/kaiyun.tan/). Roopa will also be doing an exclusive reading session of her book, Phoenix Unbound, during the session.

Following the meeting, attendees will receive a recap of all books shared to inspire future TBR (to-be-read) lists!
