IWIRC Asia Regional Conference

Asia’s restructuring and insolvency landscape is entering a new era. Legislative reform accelerating across the region, with common themes emerging such as cross-border recognition and enforcement, rescue financing protections, and pre-packaged schemes, although the pace and direction of such reform differ markedly between jurisdictions. Judicial institutions are growing in sophistication, with judges across Asia increasingly being asked to balance commercial rescue objectives, procedural fairness, and market confidence in matters that are complex, time-sensitive, and consequential. Professionals navigating this environment — lawyers, bankers, advisors, judges and insolvency practitioners — are being asked to do more, across more jurisdictions, with less margin for error.
The IWIRC Asia Regional Conference returns after 5 years since the previous edition, and this time, it will be held in the beautiful city of Kuala Lumpur on 10 to 11 September 2026. Attendees can expect two days of substantive, practice-focused dialogue on the issues that matter most to the Asian R&I community. Bringing together leading voices from across the region and beyond, this conference offers a rare forum for candid conversation, on the evolving landscape, on the frameworks and tools available, and on the people shaping these markets.
